Facebook es la "máquina de espionaje más horrosa de la historia",
especialmente debido a los perfiles de acceso público que tienen sus
usuarios.

Estados Unidos, en una entrevista a Rusia Today, considera que los
internautas exponen una considerable cantidad de datos personales en

servicios de espionaje", pueden ser utilizados.

Assange se refiere explícitamente a Facebook ya que ésta es la mayor
red social del mundo con una enorme base de datos con nombres y
registros de perfiles de personas, siendo mantenida de manera
voluntaria por sus usuarios, pero desarrollada para el uso de la
inteligencia de Estados Unidos.

"Todo el mundo debe entender que cuando se suman a sus amigos en
Facebook, están haciendo el trabajo gratis para las agencias de
inteligencia de Estados Unidos, y la creación de esta base de datos
para ellos", expresó Assange.

Assange también intervino acerca del tema de los cables del gobierno
de los Estados Unidos publicados por Wikileaks, alegando que "se ha
hablado de Guantanamo o Libia, que son temas muy discutibles, pero los

Al final de la entrevista, citada por la agencia Europa Press, Assange
habla de la industria de los medios, diciendo que están
"distorsionando fuertemente la realidad" al público y "hace muy poco
para evitar las guerras y quitar gobiernos corruptos del poder". Según
dice, es su opinión que los medios de comunicación, en general, "son
tan malos, que tenemos que preguntarnos si el mundo estaría mejor sin
ellos por completo", dijo a Rusia Today.
